THE FISH
Gen. 9:1-3
For millennia fish have beena  vital part of the staff of life for mankind.  In some locations fish actually make up the bulk of the diet.  Of all the food God gave to man, fish are perhaps one of the most healthful and wholesome.  In this sense fish speak of a "supply" for human need.  This is also the implication of fish in the New Testament.  For the saints of God there is the precious promise of Phil. 4:19.  "But my God shall supply ALL YOUR NEED according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

     I.
Physical Need - See Mark 6:34-43 (the feeding of the 5,000)
Verse 34 indicates that the people had great spiritual need to which our Lord ministered.  In the midst of doing so the day grew long and a need of a different order arose.  "They had nothing to eat."  There is a similar situation in
Mark 8 in the feeding of the 4,000.  God cares for human physical need.  Taking a few loaves and a few fish Christ met that need.  God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS!  See Matt. 7:7-11 with particular emphasis upon the physical.

     II.
Material Need - See Matt. 17:24-27
God used a fish as the repository for the coin needed to supply the temple tax required.  God cares for the material needs of this life.  S
ee James 4:1-3 and Matt. 6:24-34.  God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS!

      III. Intellectual Need - See
Luke 24:36-43
The disciples were first discouraged after the resurrection and then disturbed and disbelieving as to its reality.  Our Lord used a piece of fish and honeycomb to convince them of the reality of a corporal resurrection.  See
James 1:5-7.  God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS!

     IV.  Spiritual Need - See
Luke 5:1-11 and John 21:1-14
Jesus used a miraculous draught of fish to challenge and call some of His disciples to the ministry of fishing for men.  Likewise He used a miraculous draught of fish to chasten and commission His disciples after the resurrection.  God will meet ALL YOUR NEEDS!
